Abstract

This article investigates the construction of traumatic subjectivity and the silenced female voice in the poem Contos de areia e açúcar, based on the interface between psychoanalysis and literary criticism. It assumes that poetic language is a privileged space for the inscription of trauma, particularly in contexts of symbolic violence. The analysis focuses on the metaphors of “sand” and “sugar,” understood as allegories of fragmented memory and the tension between pain and sweetness, in dialogue with the concept of “confusion of tongues” (Ferenczi, 1933). It also engages with Butler’s (1993) perspective, highlighting how discursive practices reiterate the silencing of girls and women. Methodologically, the study combines theoretical review and interpretative analysis, with a formative dimension grounded in critical reading. The findings suggest that literary writing can function as a space of re-existence, testimony, and symbolic reparation, allowing silenced voices to re-emerge within the discursive field.
