Abstract

Technology has impacted several market sectors, and in this context, the following article's main objective is to succinctly present how georeferencing emerges as a way to guarantee and increase the efficiency and agility of processes for electricity distribution concessionaires. In the field of energy distribution, the greater the demand for maintenance and implementation of new networks, the greater the production of geoinformation must be, and with this data collected and implemented in a georeferenced database of a given concessionaire, information for decision-making and process support becomes of great importance, as in the current scenario of increasing complexity and demand for efficiency, technology is consolidated as a fundamental pillar for the modernization of the energy sector electricity, and this material presents a detailed analysis of the strategic role of georeferencing as a tool capable of transforming the operations of energy distributors. This study seeks to demonstrate how the systematic collection and use of geoinformation is essential to optimize key processes, from network maintenance and repair to planning new expansions. The proposal in question explores the practical applications of georeferencing, highlighting its relevance in creating a unified database. In short, the implementation of geographic information systems (GIS) in concessionaires not only increases the reliability, efficiency and security of operations, but also promotes more intelligent and proactive management of networks, concluding that georeferencing is an indispensable asset for sustainability and operational excellence in the sector, guaranteeing a higher quality service for consumers.
